Proud To Be a Filipino Photographer

Jaime Cesar Tibe

I would like to congratulate all the winners of the 4th Annual Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk and most specially to Mr. Jaime Cesar Tibe for winning the Grand Price. Allow me to quote Scott Kelby’s exact words why his photo won the grand prize for this year.

This shot makes me smile. As soon as I saw it, I smiled, and I’m still smiling. I love the composition and its sense of balance, and I think the post processing was spot on. I love the color all the around, and how the sky looks versus the water, and I particularly love the bubbles in the lower right corner from the last jumper. Just looks like a beautiful summer’s day, and a wonderful scene along the walk route, and it’s the kind of shot I see on places like 500px.com and think, “Wow, what a cool shot!” Great capture, moment, emotion, processing, and composition. -Scott Kelby

People like Jaime makes me proud to be a Filipino Photographer. More power to you and your family. Mabuhay ka kabayan!

Photo a week

Photo a week

It’s the 3rd day of the year and I think it is the best time to start my “Photo a week” project. Other photographers usually do a “Photo a day” but due to my work schedule I don’t think I would be able to keep up to the task of posting a photograph on a daily basis.

“Practice makes perfect” is a very famous quote for most people, be it in sports, arts etc., and photography is no exception. My aim is to hone my photographic skills and as a beginner practice would surely help me develop my skill.

So, what do I need from you my dear blog readers? I need a little help from you guys, I need your input, comments and suggestions. Tell me what do I need to correct if there’s any. Share your tips or a trick for taking a particular photograph or if have a particular website that you would like to point me to which can help me be a better photographer or you have a post processing technique, feel free to share it here.

“No man is an island” as they always say and I hope you can help me become a good photographer through your inputs and hopefully you will not only be helping me but the other blog readers as well.

Tamrac Rally 6 Camera Bag – a great gift to end 2010

Photography Gears

Everytime the year ends I always try to recall all the blessings that  have I received for the whole year and I must say I have received a lot specially for my photography. Last July 18, I got my first DSLR camera my Nikon D90 with a 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC. After 2 months I was able to buy myself a Hahnel Triad 80 Tripod, Marumi 62mm UV & Circular Polarizer. Last November, my wife gave me a Nikon MC-DC2 remote shutter for our anniversary and just when I thought that would be ending my very loving wife bought me another gift, A Tamrac Rally 6 Camera Bag. I am truly blessed this year and I have high hopes that 2011 will be better specially for my photography. Thank you LORD for all the blessings and to my wife for the wonderful bag, I love it!!!

I have finally finished configuring this new site. Now I can focus on adding content and to my photography. It’s only my 2nd day using WordPress and I’m really enjoying it. It’s a lot easier to manage and configure to the way I want it to be compared to my old Blogspot blog.

I’ll be going out tomorrow to shoot another sunrise with a friend on the same spot that I shot last Friday. I hope I can take better photographs than my previous shoot.
