Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: 30 April, 2011: FLASH Entertainment has created another memorable weekend for thousands of fans who turned out on Friday night to see Latin superstar Shakira and the King of Arab pop Amr Diab,  come together for an unforgettable night at the Yas Arena, Yas Island, in Abu Dhabi.

FLASH Entertainment spokesperson, Shatha Al Romaithi, said

“We have worked very hard throughout the year to secure some of the world’s best and worked even harder to make sure everyone who comes to each of our concerts leaves with memorable moments,” she said.

“The feedback we have received from both fans and artists has given us more reason to continue on this path.”

Shakira with Amr Diab’s performance brought the east and west in a unique musical harmony at the Yas Arina. The King of Arab pop set the mood for the evening. Diab performed some of his greatest hits which included his 1996 international smash hit “Nur al Ayn”.

Mohammed Saeed from Egypt who is in Abu Dhabi for business says the evening was just perfect with the two artists performing back to back “I am a huge fan of Amr Diab and I was excited to know his concert happened to be at the same time I am here in Abu Dhabi” he says. “I just wish the two of them performed a song together”

The Egyptian superstar has remained one of the top artists in the Arab world, reinventing his sound to earn himself three World Music Awards.

His success has earned Amr Diab the title of King of Arab pop music, selling more than 50 million albums worldwide. He reinvented his musical style and became the architect of Mediterranean music, blending Arabian oriental song with Spanish and western beats. Over 18 international companies have produced studio albums, compilations and exclusive music for Amr Diab across the globe.

While this is the second time Shakira has performed in Abu Dhabi, the vocally talented superstar  moved her famous hips like never before when she belted out some of her classics, Whenever, Whenever”, “She Wolf” and “Hips Don’t Lie as well as hits from her 9th studio album, The Sun Comes Out. Fans were left wanting more from the Latin superstar after she performed the 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem “Waka Waka” (This time for Africa). Shakira has become an international sensation blending her unique sound of rock and pop with her Latin and Arabic beats. In addition to her incredible vocal chords, Shakira introduced the world to her sexy hip-shaking moves which created a worldwide phenomenon. Her Middle Eastern heritage has been credited for her creative twist on belly dancing.

FLASH is promising more of the same with hip-hop megastar Snoop Dogg scheduled to appear next Friday night (May 6) at the Yas Arena. Tickets are available at

There will be a free shuttle bus service that will be operating on evenings of Friday May 6th. On May 6th shuttles will run every 20 minutes from 4.30 pm to 2:00 am from Yas Plaza Hotels to Yas Marina, to Yas Hotel to Yas Arena then back to Yas Plaza Hotels. Additionally, concert goers will have access to taxis after the concert is over.
